Accounting for Teachers

About this programme:

The purpose of this programme is to offer accounting teachers continuous professional development and practical exposure to the field of Accounting. The programme aims to equip the educators with effective tools to teach accounting, to learn and understand the subject content (including changes in context), new instructional methods and advances in technology.

This programme will provide all the content of the Accounting CAPS curriculum for high school learners (grades 10-12). Teachers will be taught the curriculum and their knowledge and understanding of the subject will be enhanced to the level where their teaching of learners will be effective.

This programme is also credit bearing with an allocation of 24 credits.

  • Gain practical experience in the subject. The direct experience gained will help ensure that you are fully equipped to teach your students
  • Acquire accounting related technology skills particularly in Pastel
    (Accounting Information Systems)

Who should attend:

Grade 10-12 Accounting teachers with at least a teaching diploma in which accounting is a major

Entrance requirements:

Duration:

6 weeks (6 hours a day/5 days a week)

* This programme is only available for a full cohort of a minimum of 20 delegates
