It is crucial for public sector employees to be able to apply financial and accounting skills in making decisions and calculating the financial implications of public sector projects. These skills are important in the current public sector environment as the failure of many public sector initiatives has been attributed to poor financial and accounting skills.
This three day programme is designed to enhance the financial skills of employees within the public sector, ultimately improving service delivery. This programme will assist public sector employees, or those contemplating a career in public service, to become informed users of accounting and financial information. This programme will also assist participants in understanding the dynamics of reporting requirements, develop a key understanding of financial and accounting concepts and principles, develop the skills to use tools to make correct calculations, and take appropriate and financially sound decisions in the public sector.
