UKZN Extended Learning (UEL) was very pleased to announce Zigcine Mkhize, as the winner of our 3 Day Course Offer on Facebook. We were excited to meet and present Zigcine with her prize at our UEL office. The prize was a choice of any 3 Day Course at UEL in 2018.
Zigcine is originally from Ladysmith, and although she calls it a ‘small town’ in comparison to its big city counterparts of Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town, she describes the youth of Ladysmith as having ‘a strive for education’.
Zigcine first heard of UKZN Extended Learning whilst completing her BCom Honours in Industrial Relations at UKZN, Westville Campus. Whilst busy with her undergraduate degree in Industrial, Organisational and Labour Studies, a friend enthusiastically shared that a Short Course; Certificate in Advanced Labour Law, was offered at UEL.
Zigcine is currently pursuing her Master’s in Industrial, Organisational and Labour Studies (Research). Even with an intense study/research schedule, Zigcine confirmed that students are very interested in, and keen to pursue short courses, as this strengthens a student’s application, making it more attractive to potential employers seeking students with a broad range of study exposure and experience.
From the range of 3 Day Courses on offer, Zigcine has chosen to attend Supply Chain Management on the 4th April. This is a field she would like to learn more about, and she has noted there are a good number of job opportunities within this genre.
UEL would like to congratulate Zigcine on winning this course!
