UKZN Extended Learning recently facilitated the first module of the 12-day programme – Certificate in Forensic Investigation Techniques (CFIT). This took place at our Durban premises where delegates with relevant career expertise such as law enforcement officers, attorneys, etc. attended the programme.

The programme is aimed at developing practical skills in forensic investigation by stressing emphasis on topics such as Basic Legal Concepts; Civil & Criminal Trial Processes; Rules of Evidence; Forensic Report Writing and Specialised Forensic Investigation Techniques.

The first block was the theory/foundation phase where most legal concepts were introduced. Whereas the second block session in May aims to focus more on enhancing the practical skills, where delegates will be trained to put their theory into action.
