The common thread in successful organisations the world over, is visionary leadership supported by effective management! In the words of legendary business leader, Jack Welch, former CEO of General Electric, ‘Great leaders are those who create a vision, articulate the vision, passionately own the vision and relentlessly drive it to completion’. Where leaders create the vision, it rests on effective managers to operationalise the vision.
Enabling an organisation’s Vision through effective management, lies at the heart of the Management Development Programme (MDP) hosted by UKZN Extended Learning. Using a Systems approach to analyse organisational complexity, core modules include: innovation, client centricity, efficiency, management styles, conflict resolution and value creation. These are taught within the South African context of increasing volatility and complexity.
Through harnessing the latest in transformative technologies, the MDP provides modern managers with the necessary insights and skills to; understand their organisational vision, leverage value from the organisation’s assets, human and physical, as well as equip them with the resilience to drive the Vision towards completion.
