Due to the complexity of managing projects in various industries, either in the public or private sector, the demand for project management expertise has continued to increase exponentially over the years. With this in mind, the Northern Cape Department of Education in partnership with the ETDP SETA and UKZN Extended Learning equipped approximately 70 school principals with the necessary Project Management knowledge and skills required in order to run various projects within their schools.

The five-day training took place in Kimberly and Kuruman where Dr BNCK Mkhize and Prof TT Bhengu lectured on the programme. The subjects covered included leaders and managers as change agents; data driven leadership; transforming data into knowledge; annual academic performance improvement plans; monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of interventions; as well as school governance issues and data.

The topics discussed enabled delegates the opportunity to be interactive as they were customised to specifically address the current issues faced by the school principals. Overall, the programme presented practical solutions that the delegates were enthusiastic about as they will be able to apply the knowledge and skills acquired, and in turn produce better project management results.

At UKZN Extended Learning, we do not just offer short courses but life changing programmes that will impart positive impact on a professional and personal scale.  We would love to customise a programme to specifically meet your organisational needs.
