In a rapidly evolving and connected world, digital skills training is essential for small business growth and development, which in turn may contribute to the economic growth of the country.
In the recent State of the Nation Address (SONA 2018) by President Cyril Ramaphosa, he stated that: “The growth of our economy will be sustained by small businesses, as is the case in many countries. We will work with our social partners to build a small business support ecosystem that assists, nourishes and promotes entrepreneurs. We will continue to invest in small business incubation and encourage businesses to do the same.”
In line with this, UKZN Extended Learning in partnership with Bizfarm recently hosted the Boost Your Business Workshop, supported by Facebook. The workshop was aimed at training small business owners on utilising Facebook as a business-growing platform.
The workshop was a huge success and the entrepreneurs were thrilled with the knowledge and skills received which in turn will be very beneficial for the success of their small businesses.
UKZN Extended Learning supports the development of small business and will continue to do so by offering free educational workshops such as this throughout the year.
