The UPPS Conference hosted by UKZN, provided a platform for new and updated Paediatric teaching

The College of Health Sciences and the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health at UKZN recently hosted the Update for Paediatrics and Paediatric Surgery (UPPS) Conference. Attendees included medical practitioners from private and public hospitals around KZN. The conference ran over a two-day period at the Howard College Campus where dialogues were centred on topics such as Neurology, Pulmonology, Haematology/Dermatology, as well as Surgery/General Paediatrics. Guest speakers included Dr. A Ndondo who highlighted the latest classification of epilepsy (2017 update), Prof. Refiloe Masekela who presented the Update on the 2017 Asthma guideline and Dr. M Sheik-Gafoor whose focus was on the foetus as a patient.
