The Building a Talent Management Culture for Royal Swazi Sugar Corporation programme was facilitated by UKZN Extended Learning in partnership with Mananga Institute, based in Swaziland. The first block commenced on the 22nd of November 2016 at Simunye Training Centre and consisted of delegates in management from various functions within the organisation (Royal Swazi Sugar Corporation).

This specialised programme focused on the structures that needed to be built in order to have a sustainable talent management system, specific to the organisation.  This would ensure alignment between achievement and company objectives. Content included Understanding Talent Management, Talent Attraction, Talent Selection Acquisition and On-boarding, Talent Development, and Talent Engagement and Retention.

Facilitator for this session was Rob Goldman, the former Group Learning and Development Manager at Illovo Sugar. The delegates were highly engaged and involved in group discussions. They indicated that having a facilitator with past experience from their industry, relevant to the field expertise was of great value, where invaluable insight was offered.

UEL will return to Swaziland early next year to continue with training on talent management.
