The TIPED (Trade, Investment, Promotion and Economic Development) Programme for Gauteng Growth and Development Agency commenced successfully at their offices in 124 Main Street, Johannesburg with UEL welcoming 23 delegates to module 1 of the programme. Simon Tankard, CEO of UKZN Extended Learning launched the programme, introducing delegates to the programme and outlining the current global context. Bruce Ellison followed, immersing delegates in Global Trends in Trade and Investment; Strategic Issues and Economic Growth Imperatives; Competitive Markets and Service Delivery and Global and Regional Economic Planning and Development.
Delegates were forthcoming and provided critical feedback and input, they found the programme to be insightful and thought provoking.
Session 2 focused on Understanding Investment Promotion, Foreign Direct Investment, Investor Decision-making for Long Term Value, Strategic Integrated Projects and Public-Private Partnerships facilitated by Lesley Wentworth. Mogie Subban facilitated the session on Regulatory Context (Public and Private Sectors), Supply and Value Chain Management, PFMA and MFMA frameworks.
Overall delegates enjoyed the sessions and were delighted with the result.
