The University of KwaZulu Natal recently hosted its annual Open Day over the past weekend in Pietermaritzburg. UKZN Extended Learning exhibited together with the four Colleges and nineteen Schools of the University.
Despite the rainy weather, many eager learners attended the event and were accompanied by parents and teachers. The aim was to provide detailed information on the various qualifications offered by the university and allow prospective students and parents to ask questions so that they make informed decisions about their future careers.
The event was a huge success due to the vast displays, and the Central Applications Office was also present, offering more information on their services. Many of the Schools from Engineering and Health Sciences performed experiments which was a great way to demonstrate their different fields and instill knowledge in the learners. These illustrations sparked a lot of interest as the learners had a clearer view as to what the different disciplines entail. Many learners left with a clear vision regarding their future career choices.
The University will be hosting its next Open Day in Westville on the 11th May 2019. If you would like to learn more about the different qualifications and programmes offered by the University, please feel free to attend the upcoming event.
