Without a doubt, English is one of the most commonly used languages in business, academia, and media. Therefore, the ability to comprehend the English language and communicate has become necessary in a multiracial and multicultural environment such as KwaZulu-Natal and many other provinces in South Africa. Establishing a good understanding of English allows individuals to develop positive business relationships to assist with more effective communication between colleagues and clients.

UKZN Extended Learning’s English Proficiency programme enables delegates to increase their proficiency in English as a language used in business. This programme reflects the growing demand in South Africa and across key markets in Africa. During the interactive sessions with facilitators, delegates will learn to apply English to real-life situations relevant to their daily interactions. The programme’s focus areas include learning about the English culture, heritage, context, themes, basic expressions, and pronunciation and written text for presentation. By participating in this programme, delegates will achieve proficiency in English that can serve as a springboard for further, more in-depth language study.

One of the most rewarding aspects of the human experience is our ability to connect with others. Having strong language skills will enhance your ability to communicate effectively.

The upcoming intake for the English Proficiency Programme is starting on the 15th of September 2021. If you would like to secure your place or find out more information about this programme, please click here.
