Potential students, keen to pursue a degree at UKZN, recently attended the 2020 Access Course Open Day held at UKZN Extenderd Learning (UEL) Howard College offices based on the Howard College campus.
The learners, some accompanied by parents were eager to find out more about the Access courses on offer. Students and parents were given the opportunity to address all the queries related to the Access/bridging courses offered at UEL. The Access courses available include Foundation Maths, Foundation Maths Online, Foundation Physics, Mathematical Literacy Upgrade to Grade 12 Mathematics, Certificate in Business Administration, and Certificate in Public Administration.
Twenty students registered for the intensive two weeks Foundation Maths Course which commenced on the 13th of January, with the aim of being given a second chance in gaining access into the University. The commencement dates for the other Access programmes are as follows:
- Foundation Physics: 3rd February 2020
- Math Literacy Upgrade: 11th February 2020
- Certificate in Business Administration and Certificate in Public Administration: 17th February 2020
Over the past couple of years, UEL Access programmes has had a success rate of 90% pass rate and aims to achieve 100%.
