At our recent Competent Project Management (CPM) three-day programme, delegates embarked on an evolutionary journey as their careers transformed for the better. Facilitating the training while grooming the current and future project managers was Mr Mondli Mbambo – a passionate project management professional and practitioner who holds a Master’s Degree in Project Leadership and Management. Mondli is also a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI), as well as a Professional member for Project Management South Africa (PMSA) where he also serves as the President for the KwaZulu-Natal region.

Providing an academic insight after facilitating this three-day training programme, Mr Mbambo said:

“I would describe the programme as an eye opener. Delegates definitely left the place being empowered, full of energy, and looking forward to working with projects, applying proper tools and techniques as well as knowledge gained throughout the programme. This was a basic Project Management programme which equips delegates with appropriate knowledge and techniques. There is also the Advanced Project Management (APM) which is more detailed and practical, and aims to empower learners with knowledge which they can apply in their workplaces. I would recommend the APM programme to anyone wishing to expend their practical knowledge and experience on projects.”

We also received some positive feedback from delegates on the programme. Ms Phumlile Maseko, an engineer from Richard’s Bay, had this to say:

“I found the programme to be very informative. I am proud to say that I have learnt a lot. Most of the things I was uncertain about have been cleared. I can actually take whatever I have learnt and apply it at my place of work. The facilitator was exceptional.  He made things very easy to understand and he encouraged team work as we worked well with our team members and learnt a lot from each other. I definitely recommend the course to anybody who wishes to do Competent Project Management.”

It is crucial for project managers to be well informed about their respective projects as decisions made could have a significant impact of the success of the project. Training programmes such as this instils the importance of accurate and strategic ways of managing projects, and provides delegates with the tools to make important decisions.
