UEL’s flagship programme – Management Development Programme (MDP) was recently launched for 2019. Our prominent and highly influential facilitators did an applaudable job in setting the tone for the next six months. Our team of facilitators included Dr Rudi Kimmie, Mr Lew Roberts, Mr Simon Tankard, and Ms Zinhle Mpungose. As a Coach and HR Executive, Zinhle empowers individuals, executives and organisations to fearlessly embrace change/transformation and realise previously untapped potential. Newly appointed managers, middle managers, as well as prominent entrepreneurs from around the country were euphoric to be part of the programme.

The first three-day block session took place at Riverside Hotel where the delegates were divided into two cohorts and lectures took place simultaneously. This is due to the large number of delegates that took part in the first MDP intake this year. UEL strives to deliver a high quality, focused programme and can only do so in smaller class groups.

During this first session, the groups were introduced to a business simulation model where they will compete in teams against each other throughout the programme. Additionally, the delegates were also introduced to their personal coaches who will coach them in individual sessions within every module throughout the programme. The purpose is to develop certain key competencies that will assist each delegate both personally and professionally.

According to William Arruda (2016) as quoted in Forbes:

“leaders know that if they aren’t learning something new every day, they are not standing still, they are falling behind. They remain curious and seek to remain relevant in an ever-changing world of work. They seek out people and information that will expand their thinking.”

Therefore, we believe that our delegates’ journey on enhancing their management abilities will be a fruitful and inspirational one, especially to the employees they manage as well as their various organisations. We hope that this will mark a turning point in their career as they will thrive to be better versions of themselves.

Should you wish to be part of the second intake commencing on 17th July 2019, please contact:
