Citing Professor DT Jones on the opening of the Competent Project Management class, Professor PD Rwelamila stated that:

“Project Management is no longer about managing the sequence of steps required to complete the project on time. It is about systematically incorporating the voice of the customer, creating a disciplined way of prioritising effort and resolving trade-offs, working concurrently on all aspects of the project in multi-functional teams and much more. Getting the project management process right should be a key strategic priority for every firm”.

Our world renowned facilitator introduced the first group assignment, where delegates were tasked to reflect and analyse their various departments and units and critically comment on the relevance of Jones’ (2003) statement above. This allowed delegates to give thought to their current Project Management processes at work and identify whether such processes are considered as key strategic priorities.

During the three day programme, Prof Rwelamila covered three intense and eye opening modules, namely, Project Management and Its Dynamics; Fundamentals of Project Planning, Scheduling & Control Project Scheduling; as well as Fundamentals of Project Risk Management, Managing People/Teams & Learning from Projects.

When delegates were asked to comment about their experience on the programme, they mostly expressed their gratitude towards the facilitator due to his intense knowledge and skill on Project Management as a whole, as well as the relevant examples he used throughout the programme. They now understand the importance of work breakdown structure as it promotes effective project planning. They stated that when they return to work, they will now be more mindful of their project management processes, only implementing those that will produce effective and efficient results.

Having received such positive feedback, we pride ourselves in offering such programmes as they are designed to capacitate individuals and organisations with the critical knowledge, skills and resources in order to achieve their full potential.
