APSTAR – the future of Population Science problem solving techniques

The Applied Population Science Training and Research (APSTAR) programme’s first of four blocks kicked off with a bang this week. The course was facilitated by Professor Pranitha Maharaj, a doctorate graduate and lecturer in Sociology at UKZN; and Nompumelelo Nzimande, a Masters’ graduate in Sociology and Demographics who is also a member of the advisory committee at the Population Association of South Africa (PASA) council. Delegates from various sectors fully participated on the chapters covered on the first module – Introduction to applied population sciences, and are looking forward to the second module – Population and development Interrelations.
