UEL recently hosted delegates from in and around KZN in the quest of improving the overall health and safety (H&S) performance within their organisations. Facilitating the course was Professor Theo Haupt, who is an internationally renowned H&S practitioner and researcher. Professor Haupt holds a PHD from the United States focusing on alternative approaches to the management of H&S on construction sites.
During the 3 weeks of block lectures, delegates worked in groups, evaluating and solving practical H&S problems while linking them to theory. Delegates testified that this enabled them to grow academically and personally and they also created strong friendship connections amongst one another. They were all satisfied with the warm service they received from the UEL course coordinators and that they look forward to do more training with UEL in the future.
